I think every character in this book has thing that brings them happiness for some of them it’s a lot harder to see but for some it’s very easy. For example for Cory I think football brings him happiness because he’s ready to disobey his dad just to play the game that he loves, for Lyons music is his happiness and also he would love it if his dad showed him support and came to watch him play sometime, for Gabe I believe he’s always happy his “lord” makes him all the time and also he loves selling fruit and giving Rose roses, and for Troy I believe his happiness is just to watch his kids grow up, work and not waste their life’s like he did on unnecessary things like for example he gave his life to baseball but he didn’t go anywhere with it and for Rose he a happiness his probably just watching everyone get along because she seems to be the person that play peace  maker whenever things get twister between troy and another member in the family.

I think one way our society views happiness is by doing something that you’re passionate about and something you love for example Cory and Lyons are both doing things that they love and they are happy but when Troy makes them do something else they just are bummed out  and not exited at all. Happiness is also maybe have a good time with your family or have your family getting along with each other and that where rose comes in  she wants everyone in her family to like each other because that brings her happiness. So really our views on happiness is very similar to this book.

  1. I also believe that most of the time we as individuals think about other peoples happiness before our own whether it be your loved one or a best friend. People think that it is our right to be happy and we need to do whatever it takes to be happy but in reality we need to thank about others and what makes them happy or what can hurt them. "So really our views on happiness is very similar to this book. " I agree with what you said about how both the book and society is very similar in how they view happiness.
